TWO WEEKS AFTER EXPERIMENT

She pulled me through the woods, with me barely able to keep up. I vocally objected several times along the way, but whenever I did she got mad at me and said…something (eventually I realized that I might be attracting predators, so I immediately went as silent as a mouse). There were several times where she stopped and looked around—almost like a dog detecting a squirrel—and pulled me into a bush. Each time I got nervous, not knowing and unable to ask what exactly it was we were hiding from, not knowing and unable to ask what I was supposed to do, doing my best to remain silent and unmoving, not knowing and unable to ask if I was doing anything wrong.
But each time we came out fine, and eventually she led me to a large clearing full of tents and huts. There were lots of other people there, also in leather tunics, although unlike the girl most had intricate designs and patterns on theirs (some even had what could be called jewelry!) I did notice however that all (save the infants and children) wore the same three-stripe pattern of purple face paint. Perhaps a set of tribal markings of some sort?
I was naturally the center of attention, and everyone would turn to look at me as soon as they spotted us. The girl—still keeping a firm grasp on my hand—kept yelling out a string of several similar-sounding sentences, occasionally walking up to someone to say one at normal volume. They appeared to direct her somewhere half the time, so I assumed she was asking around for something. Or someone.
Eventually she took me to an old man sitting in front of a large fire. His outfit had significantly more to it than anyone else’s, and he also appeared to be the only portly person in the camp. He also carried a staff with a bovine’s skull affixed to the top, so I assumed that this must be the tribal chieftain (or perhaps shaman?) When the girl called out for him, began to say something as he stood up, but stopped halfway through his sentence the instant he saw me.
I began to wonder how long it would be before I would get to learn what any of these folks looked like without an expression of bewilderment.

this was the first entry so far that i had to *squeeze* into a single page rather than stretch to meet page length. I should also clarify that the jewlery is not made of any materials that we modern folk would put into jewelry. I should probably work on clarifying that next section.
